Playing Bad Players

One of the most frustrating things in poker is when you come up against a weak player, usually a new player that has little or no experience of the game and they seem to keep winning pots from all over the place.

At first these players look just like any loose player, playing all sorts of hands, but once you can see that they just don’t really know what they are doing you will have to change tactics slightly. When playing bad players be careful when raising or placing a large bet to them as they wont really know what it means and will likely just flat call you.

They wont be able to properly rate their hand and so wont know when they were supposed to fold to your large bet. In the same way, you should not bluff them either as before they may just call you to the end and pick up a couple of lucky cards along the way.

The best tactic to use when playing bad players is to lay in wait for them. If your in the pot with them don’t come forward with too many chips, wait for when you know you have the pot won and slowly up the bets and raises until you have most of his chips on the table then hit him with it. They wont see you coming as they don’t really have enough experience to see when they are getting led by another player.
